Update: Just got five promo codes to download Time Guru (the cool metronome app mentioned in the episode.) Send me a message or let me know down below you're interested and I’ll share the codes! Happy Practicing
This is great, thanks Evan! BTW as a trumpeter I got into mental practicing early (I wanted a way to practice on the subway) and it's been a huge help in terms of ear training, hearing targets, improvisation, etc. It probably helps that I only have three buttons to keep track of!
Thank you for this - I found the old school tips most valuable, so many of them being taught by my teacher long time ago. However, being fascinated by hurdy-gurdy, the "modern" idea of cultivating the fiddling with acoustic instruments around the house is very profound and refreshing, that keeps your spirits up and musically (and otherwise) on your toes.
Thank you Evan, poignant and inspiring episode, and very much in the spirit of Bach while being practical and current. Would you share your home organ setup? What kind of keyboards, bass pedals and midi software? Thanks 🙏
Hi Dor! I play on a very small Johannus studio model. As for software, I am an Organteq artist. They graciously sponsor the show and I highly recommend both Organteq and Pianoteq. Thanks!
Great episode! There’s some gold in old method books. I’d love to try the Time Guru metronome, if you still have a download code to share. I mostly use the metronome in the TonalEnergy Tuner app these days. Cheers!

YNFR674JNYFJ - Try this let me know if it works. "A user needs to go to their profile in the upper right, hit Redeem, and type/paste in the code."
It worked! Thanks so much!

Thanks for the note!
I wish i had seen those advises on time. I feel like I let my best years go by since i wasn’t at all introduced into this on time
