That second performance (JSB Foundation?) of BWV 93 sounds like a different piece! I like both performances, it's a reminder of how different interpreters bring out different textures, sonorities etc., and these diverse performances in turn bring out between them how rich the score actually is..
Thanks, Dave! I did some "WTFing" to the JSB Foundation's performance, pitching it up and messing with the panning- but even if I were not to, the approaches are very different. I am always impressed with the subtle beauty and balance that Herreweghe is able to achieve.
What's the last day your Bach Store will be open? I might actually be visiting that area in early April...would be cool to get some fugues in.
